    Turn 30 in March -> last 6 months of lab work for my PhD. Get married in Sept -> 6 months for analysis and write up. Hand in next March before my birthday, best friend’s wedding & hopefully attend Delhi conference 2021. What a year ahead! 😃🤞🏻

    What do you say when non-scientists ask you what you do? Someone asked me at a party today & when I said I was doing a PhD they looked completely blank so I changed the subject. Mostly people are disinterested, dismissive or rude(!) when I go into detail. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    We desperately need to otherwise we’ll be a “nation of shopkeepers” with no shops! There’ll be nothing handmade or unique, just imported factory-made items stocked by Amazon and supermarkets. ☹️

    So I was ready to leave work at 16:17 but have had to wait until 18:49 to catch an off-peak train bc of the new timetable. This train is delayed and running slowly so it’s now 3 hours later and I’m still in London. GWR is the worst service I have ever used.

    is the next off-peak train from London Paddington to Didcot at 18:49? As in, you’ve increased the train prices AND pulled the 16:49, 17:18, 17:49 & 18:18 off-peak services?!
