It's an interesting point, except that it's completely untrue. Labour's loss had little to do with its left-leaning platform. It lost because it simultaneously tried to be anti-Brexit in Remain constituencies, and neutral in less affluent, pro-Brexit manufacturing areas.

1. Brexit was a massive issue that divided the left. Labour was offering another vote because that was the popular opinion but remainers were not satisfied with that.
2. The moderates have been eradicated.
