Half a dozen members of the housing stability task force spoke at commissioners court today, all sounded frustrated that Mayor @SylvesterTurner hasn't put a grace period ordinance on the city council agenda. The task force voted unanimously in favor of the policy last week.
Meanwhile at city council, Mayor @SylvesterTurner is arguing renters need more federal rent relief - not a grace period.
For what it's worth: the city already gave $14.4 million directly to landlords and we have no idea who received it because that information is "confidential."
