If a modern human were hurled at random into various epochs of the distant past and made to live for, say, 5 years in each, how far back do you think they'd have to be thrown to consider the hominid ancestors they encountered unsuitable for sexual relations?

if no homo sapiens were available, I'm sure any hominid would do, though modern conceptions of consent would surely be problematized

I suspect we would not think twice about pairing off with a Neanderthal; that given enough time any member of the Homo genus would probably do; that most of us would be too squeamish to cross the Homo/Australophithecus boundary; and that in any case the sex would be very rough.
