Allowing the Bay Area’s transit systems to go into a death spiral β€” a never-ending cycle of service cuts & reduced ridership β€” isn’t an option. We need to shore them up & stabilize them as they recover. We’re fighting to help them via the state budget.

Next week's SFMTA Board Workshop offers a window into where SFMTA is in terms of budget and priorities. Slides just dropped. Structural deficit looking slightly north of $210M in FY26 once federal funds are totally exhausted. $130M in FY25. New funding is needed ASAP.

Today I signed our Housing Element, which is a major step towards getting more housing built for our residents. I want to thank all the city staff that worked to make this happen -- this was a huge task and we need to recognize the people who got this across the finish line.
