After this fiasco ends, some brave politician MUST take on the US health care system, which is the worst possible combination of socialism, fascism, bureaucracy, plus private gain and consumer pillaging, that one could ever put together. The whole thing is a disaster.

Absolutely a disaster. But the best solution, IMO, is for docs & patients to take back their power. Legislation can't fix this. We must.

How about a focus on public health and prevention. Obesity is behind some 80% of covid deaths, much can be prevented and the result may be much lower health insurance cost for all, plus a healthier nation.
