If you've already done the "hard work" of creating an offline-capable PWA, using Content Indexing should be very straightforward. It's running as an Origin Trial starting in Chrome 80, and you should expect the UX treatment to evolve based on feedback!

Here are the changes I made to add Content Indexing support to my blog, which is a (fairly complex) PWA: https://github.com/jeffposnick/jeffposnick.github.io/compare/fedbdf87dc8ee26b66f0e12e2649d92b7a853d79...jeffposnick:b10addb50d4d3b664e3b348c1c336988fe7d3bdf … You can see the end result in the "Articles for You" tab of Chrome 80+ on Android, after visiting https://jeffy.info pic.twitter.com/GYyzrg8pk3

Similarly, here's how I added Content Indexing support to https://so-pwa.firebaseapp.com/ https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/so-pwa/commit/8531758b0e294bc6e3478f57e3b5a88c02d63d97 …

The general pattern is: - figure out what's cached locally - figure out what's already in the content index - add pages that are cached locally but not yet in the index - remove pages from the index that are no longer cached locally

What about Ads Abuse? Or whatever abuse? E.g. random sites populating this index with random stuff
-
Folks are thinking about that during the Origin Trial; could you post your specific (or general) concerns to one of the open issues at https://github.com/rayankans/content-index/issues …?
