Call Child Protective Services! It’s their job not to allow abuse of any child in their state — and I’m pretty sure they’d consider children in cages abuse or neglect in a private home, so it’s equally unacceptable treatment by the government.

It's a federal policy so it overrides "law". Trumps administration has authorized this, with the intent of "deterring" immigration. Not only is it not working, it is a huge human rights violation. Federal courts need to take action - I know the ACLU has a pending lawsuit.
-
Does the federal policy override the UN commission on human rights?
-
Please be clear I am NOT defending it, just trying to offer some insight on how they can turn away a US senator. It is abhorrent and the UN council is already shunning us (rightly so). I suspect it is a huge human rights violation.
-
I still like the idea of CPS / DCFS showing up, like the senator, to assess the wellbeing of children who are currently ‘housed’ in their state. If someone at that dept had the cojones they could really make a (public) scene.

If any group wants to protest the conditions, the processing center is at 3000 W. Military Hwy., McAllen, TX.pic.twitter.com/6Fm3EIoMQP

Retweeting my post about the center to which the senator was denied access. Also, if group's want to protest, this is the location of Southwest Key center in Brownsville, as best I can determine. If someone knows otherwise, please let me know.https://twitter.com/AerieThe/status/1003830485901086720?s=19 …

According to the ACLU representative on Maddow last night, the kids physical needs are being met. But, of course, this is a Human Rights catastrophe and a crime against humanity. The cruelty is over the top.

Senator, go back with ten more senators And LOTS of cameras.
-
It’s crazy bullshit that they want to protect the privacy of the kids and their parents by not letting cameras in, but they’re not worried about the privacy and rights of the kids and the parents in any other way!
-
We are talking about children yanked from their parents who asked for asylum. LEGALLY. If anybody ever got in there, they would be witnessing screaming, traumatized kids and bewildered babies. Unconscionable! One would have to go to a country led by a tyrant to see this.
-
A windowless box-store with cages is unconscionable
-
Any citizen in the USA who did this would go to prison for kidnapping and child abuse.

We need to show up in large groups and protest outside this center until this policy is stopped!
