SCOOP: The U.S. plans to send 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Mexico and 1.5 million doses to Canada, administration officials tell me. The loan does not affect @POTUS goal to have enough vaccine for all U.S. adults by the end of May.

The vaccine that nobody wants. Maybe it’s payment to get Mexico to curb immigrants heading to US?

They aren't "sending it". Those places bought it. It isn't a gift. It's fulfilling a contract.

They didn't buy them from the US. They are receiving them because thay vaccine isn't FDA approved here yet. For the record, Mexico has received vaccines from other countries and bought the Russian vaccine.

32M over 16, ~1M not able to take the vaccine for various reasons, and an expected 70% uptake brings us to 22M people.
