Getting pretty tired of this Twitter BS; fretless bassist & composer; non-partisan political junkie; geeky tech enthusiast; Maritimer who's been around a bit.
I teach college music theory. Here are a bunch of musical moments from different genres that make my brain produce The Good Chemicals, along with a *mildly* technical explanation of what's going on musically. 1/
"When I'm Prime Minister" by winning the election I refuse to trigger b/c my party must live on the fumes of pretending it's influencing sitting governments to get any recognition, so we reliably prop up people we deeply disapprove of, as outlined below. What leadership! #cdnpoli
28 years without clean water.
8 years of broken promises from Justin Trudeau.
9 years of Pierre Poilievre doing nothing to fix it when he was in government.
When I’m Prime Minister, Indigenous communities will not have to fix these problems alone. twitter.com/solmamakwa/sta…
Omigosh, look at everything u get w/ Twitter Blue!!! 2 things Coming Soon (we promise!), the ability to get future things we haven't even thought of yet, &… longer videos. So $105/year for longer videos then! What tremendous value - well done, Elon! (What's YouTube cost again?)
Jerry Huigen from Dunville, Ont. says he’s forced to dump about 30,000 litres of milk some months due to government regulations. https://ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=2621873&taid=63dd136a1b86500001ad730b&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter…
We have some fairly standard winter weather coming, so Nova Scotia Power would like you to prepare for service failures. This is a PR strategy to convince you that those failures are inevitable. Oh, and ICYMI yesterday, your power bills are going up again.
And the real problem will be that it will raise a generation of people who are used to reading this weak #AI text and think that that’s what good writing looks like. This is already happening in popular music in various ways.
Our govt employees behaving responsibly & working hard for us all: “A federal govt dept charged with doling out COVID-19 financial benefits has fired 49 of its employees who received the Canada Emergency Response Benefit while they were still employed.”
Stunning how little math people must know to make the excuse that, b/c prices have gone up, we now have to tip a higher percentage to be fair to the people we’re tipping. We’re already tipping more b/c the costs are higher so, no, I’m not tipping 20-25%.🤷♂️
This guy posted his first...and last video. Chances are, he'll have some visitors soon, may have happened already. He'll be silenced. Dairy farmers hardly ever disclose how much milk is dumped yearly. Asked the
Government making a Dairy Farm in Southern Ontario dump 30,000 litres of milk because they have gone over quota.
Can’t donate it to a food bank, or to a hospital, or to a homeless shelter. Right down the drain so we can pay $7 per litre for milk.

An email a day keeps the timesheets away. 🍎
We just launched the easiest-to-use time tracking tool ever. And it’s FREE for 3 months ($18 value).
10 minutes of setup gets you a daily email showing you everything you did yesterday.
Like & comment “wow” and I’ll DM the details.
"Speaking for The Coast, we have decided that power needs to be held to account.
The Coast will be suing the city because it broke the law, and we all deserve leaders who actually do their jobs. Even if they only do so when legally compelled."
Wow!
B/c we get such great service from NS Power, I guess? Also, every story like this should mention their CEO makes more than $8 million a year (probably mysteriously going up by ~14% over the period of this increase).🙄#nspoli
…"Then again, (her) appointment has little to do with any attempt by Mr. Trudeau to foster meaningful dialogue. Her nomination is meant to delight outspoken interest groups whose support is critical to Liberal political fortunes… (Her salary:) between $162.7k & $191.3k" (2/2)
Great read: "(She's) entitled to her opinions. But one wonders how she can promote understanding of & tolerance toward Muslims among Canadians if she starts out from the defensive crouch she has taken in her writings. Tolerance is a two-way street…" (1/2)
Dear Ontarians,
Since Sunday, January 29, egg farmers are getting less for their eggs 👇. If prices continue to rise at the store, have a chat with your grocer.
Yours truly,

I have a theory that ChatGPT and text-based AI is being overhyped because it is most impressive to a bunch of people for whom writing is a minor part of their job that is annoying and they're not very good at it and fail to understand writing on a fundamental level.
The proposed NS auto insurance changes have potential drastic consequences for those injured in a motor vehicle incident.
PLEASE read the info below, share it & take action before Feb 3.
Every Nova Scotian should be aware of this issue.
I am also unsure about the *why*/how this came to be but how you pronounce Toronto basically points to if you're from Ontario or not lol. http://the10and3.com/this-is-how-canada-talks/…

After a 20-year hiatus, Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade has announced its long-awaited return with the massive, 41-date Summer of Green Tour 2023, which will mark the band’s first appearances since summer 2003.
Weird how many "progressives" understand you can - to VERY good effect - substitute non-cops for cops to get better policing, BUT they can't seem to understand anything relative to healthcase except "more doctors/nurses!". Happy to see movement on this:
OMG — what an image! Tank man stood up to the Tiananmen tanks in June 1989. Now Cdn researchers are helping the Chinese military develop their weaponry & their surveillance technology to use against the Uyghurs. It is disgraceful that these researchers don’t have an ethical lens.
The City of Kwinana, which is a suburb of Perth, Australia, installed drainage nets in Henley Reserve. Started as a trial, the water pollution filters have collected 370kg of debris in 4 months

This might be the best programming quote I've ever heard:
"Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live."
For perspective: $15.5 BILLION is ~$420 for every living Canadian. That's what the CRA says isn't worth trying to get back (while they ask for a 30% raise over 3 years). Likely #Trudeau solution: send $420 cheques to everyone - problem solved!😢#cdnpoli
I'm getting to the point where I want to respond to unsolicited email mktg with an "FU", since that's only about as rude as it is to reach out to a stranger like you know them & pretend you've got some solution they REALLY need. I both block & mark as #spam but no end of them.😒
#BusinessTip: Always worthwhile to just do a quick search for the typo "pubic" if you've used the word "public" in anything you've written. It won't look wrong to spellcheck but it can be a little jarring for your readers. 😂
When Gary Gygax moved to Lake Geneva WI at age 8 (‘46) he made friend that he would go on the greatest of adventures with.
In ‘72 Gygax & Kaye formed Tactical Studies Rules (TSR).
The original TSR logo is a combo of their initials.
