    Jacobabad (population 191,000) hit a peak wet-bulb temperature of 33.1°C (91.6°F) today (), close to the theoretical human survival limit of 35°C. The practical limit for extended exposure is 25-31°C, detailed in my post last week,

    It amazes me there isn't more global outrage over the rapid deterioration of the , now suffering its fourth bleaching due to since 2016. The reef makes up about 10% of all coral reef ecosystems. It's a global treasure. /2

    If it has to do with bombs, America is very good at preparedness. If it has to do with public health, not so much.

    Invest in *preparedness.* This $20b budget couldn't be a less evidence-based investment. Why? - $19.4bn/year to stop wildlife farming *just in China* - wildlife trade linked to < 10% of zoonotic viruses - climate change makes zoonosis unavoidable. health systems stop pandemics.
