There are many reasons I joined. Two big ones: people and mission. I have worked with great teams. The people I met in and around the @USDS were incredible. When they and other civil servants described the impact of their work, it blew me away. I feel lucky to join.

Regardless of who was or will be elected to any office, I suspect hard work will always be needed to serve the American public. I and people I love have benefited greatly from the past service of others. If there is some tiny way I can repay that, I want to.

Congratulations! Any advice for product managers looking to pivot from private sector, content driven world into public sector? What do you think is the most universally transferable skill? (I have previous nonprofit experience BTW)

I haven't started yet so this is likely premature. Some advice I've gotten: interpersonal skills, commitment, curiosity, humility, resilience.
