In a statement, SpaceX confirms rumors that the center booster core from the Falcon Heavy Arabsat-6A mission toppled over the weekend; crews could not secure the booster on the droneship in rough seas with swells as high as 10 ft (3 m). Doesn’t affect future missions.

Sorta unclear! But I suspect B1055 didn't survive toppling over the guardrail or the high seas it apparently fell into.

So strange that the booster could carry a few tons to space attached to two other rockets, flip/return, land on a fricken boat but yeah, those waves...Hard to believe waves are what made it meet its demise. I am sure they will develop a fix for the future.

@SpaceX needs to switch to a multi hull design with large submerged pontoons. They are more stable in rough seas because the submerged pontoons are lower down in the water.
