This is MIT loss, maybe everyone’s. Hopefully you will do the right thing and stroll by decades long of content you wrote, trying to find things you stood for when you were younger and dumb (like all), things that could be taken out of context, things said to provoke thought.

RMS is almost 70 years old. How do you expect him to keep up with millenial fragility and infinite ability to be offended? Even I have a hard time with this crap, it only takes a straw to be vilified. TOLERANCE demands no paradox, just a little fucking effort.

It’s not about millennials. He’s been an asshat since before millennials were conceived. Pay attention to what’s been reported; you might learn something. Unless that’s what you’re specifically trying to avoid?

Like I said, tolerance. It requires no equal ideas. And we need a truckload of asshats, specially nowadays. The ones we should be grateful for don’t give a fuck about flattery. GPL only requires you to pass it along.

Read the Paradox of Tolerance sometime; there’s a good summary on Wikipedia. If people had been so tolerant 80 years ago, we’d be having this convo in German.

I did. Stallman is on the extreme of tolerance. Between the two of you it's incredibly clear which is being intolerant. Or are you going to provide even one example?

As for examples, read @sarahmei’s thread in response to the alumna’s Medium post. Literally dozens of examples.
