Oh for real? I mean my original tweet was mostly a mockery but if we’re talking seriously then I figured ‘digital nomad’ was basically a freelancer not anchored to a single location. Is it perceived to be more pretentious than that?

I’ve stopped saying I’m a freelancer but “I’m self-employed” or “I freelance for clients full-time”.
