Thanks for the excellent service! Any plans for dnscrypt support? (DNS over HTTPS) is agonizingly slow on common ARM hardware)
I can try adding dnscrypt support to knot (if only to get more familiar with the code). Not sure that it would make them deploy it though.
+1 to this @jedisct1 Might we see filter support? Family filtering has been useful from OpenDNS this far. I guess I could implement this through Meraki but, be great if Cloudflare considered it.
we’re DNS purists. We’re skeptical filtering at the DNS level is the right answer. Opens up a Pandora’s box of issues. Understand the ease and value OpenDNS offers. But don’t think we’ll go down that path.
Dnscrypt-proxy and Pi-hole let you use Cloudflare and do fine-grained DNS filtering. You control what you want to block and when. Free, readily available block lists can be used along with you own tweaks.
I use PiHole in front of 1.1.1.1 to block ads/tracking. Very simple to maintain.
Nod. Pi-hole has a simple, slick interface and it just works. dnscrypt-proxy has better filters. I wish both were combined as an official project.
