Now that people realize that using a public IP for private things may not be a good idea, they may also realize that using “email@domain.com” everywhere, including in default configuration files, is even worse.

To be honest email@domain.com often just default, but "1.1.1.1" argument "it's easy to remember and type".

Sure, “10.1.1.1” would be waaaaaay more difficult to remember and waaaaaay longer to type.

And taking 5 seconds to lookup RFC5737 before releasing a product that took years to develop would be overkill.
