I think it's fair to say that AES-OCB will be in the final portfolio, and I would love to see Rogaway kill its patent status entirely. I'm not sure CAESAR would have existed if OCB mode wasn't patented.

Maybe it’s soon the time to start another attempt to advertise our OPP / MRO modes … basically OCB+BLAKE2 (permutation) for nonce-respecting / -misusing adversarial models which we unfortunately only designed after CAESAR had already started.https://github.com/MEM-AEAD/mem-aead …
