What is "zero knowledge" about this? It seems like the authors really just mean "semantically secure" (or something approximating this).

Looks like it compresses all the files and data together and then encrypts, meaning that if I start from a known plaintext the length leaks

Hard to tell but looks like if the same password is used on two volumes with the same ID then it would leak data
