@jedisct1 When you query the root with www.foo.anything, you get a NXDOMAIN but you don't know which label was wrong. -

@jedisct1 With QNAME minimization, you query for ".anything" NS and you know that NXDOMAIN is for the TLD -
@bortzmeyer@jedisct1 This sounds a lot like DNSSEC-based NXDOMAIN synthesis, but qname mini'z'n probably works better in NSEC3 zones :-)
