This is normally not needed for the basic bluetooth settings. Worst case it also works with the jack cable

I am sorry.. I had this great experience as well, plus try to use the noice cancelling on a bus on hills and you'll have to disable it since they use atmospheric pressure to adapt the signal

Mine (also Sony) will also switch off if there not connected to Bluetooth. So I have to drain two batteries (headphones and phone) just to get noise cancellation. That's beyond lame.
