Do Linux people actually use Snaps? My understanding is that besides Canonical trying to push it, no one cares, and Snaps have been mostly obsoleted by Nix/Guix.
Why did you choose it over Nix, Flatpak or AppImage? Snaps don’t seem to be very popularhttps://twitter.com/only_office/status/998899408191279104 …

The poll doesn't seem to be very representative. Every single Ubuntu machine now comes with
@snapcraftio by default - here's what is installed from snap on my Ubuntu laptoppic.twitter.com/t873tPRheN

AppImage seems to be unsuitable for packaging Linux daemons (I package a Django app). I didn't know about Flatpak and Nix. Snaps OTOH can expose many binaries to the system, can run services and constrain app using AppArmor.

I had a look at Guix and it seems it offers a fraction of the functionality of Snaps https://www.gnu.org/software/guix/manual/en/html_node/Development.html#Development …
