Society is comprised of people. Caring for people is about saving society. The real moral dilemma of our time is allowing the wealthy minority to control the lives of the majority with perverse policies which see the have-nots financially support the haves.

We either save avoidable deaths & destroy society OR accept avoidable deaths & save society. The moral dilemma of our time.

Today is hard. I’m a victim of child sexual abuse, within the Catholic system. My perpetrators, and those that enabled them, haven’t had to face their crimes. I long for them to say sorry, to validate my suffering - recognition. Solidarity to all my peers. Today is hard.

Is there any sense at all to allowing people to flow in and out of a hairdressing salon all day but not in to a nail bar? Why put hairdressers at risk? Who honestly decided that they be deemed an essential service?

A deep awareness of the goodness of human beings, that they are essentially kind, helpful, and gentle, can give us courage and hope. On a personal level too, such a vision of our basic nature can help promote a greater sense of well-being and connectedness with others.

I watched the young check out chick at in the Clarendon Centre South Melb pay the remaining $9 on a pensioners bill when she didn't have enough. I offered but she had already put it through. The good news story we need in and amongst the selfish & pig headedness we've seen

The homeless are the real forgotten people. How do you self isolate if you are homeless? No govt plan for more public and social housing as demand increases and homelessness surges as economy weakens. Jobs could be created, houses built, and lives saved.

A pandemic is declared, but not for 24,600 dead every day from unnecessary starvation, or 3,000 children dead every day from preventable malaria, or the countless daily dead from America's blockade on Venezuela and Iran and its bombs on Yemen. Before you panic consider them.

Compliant journalists in the UK, US, Australia suppressed the significance of the outrage of the #Assange trial: the obscene bias, the studied cruelty. Is this the press freedom we are fighting for? The Guardian's deceit about its role in unredacted cables shames real journalism.

Read this report by Craig Murray of day 2 of the #Assange extradition hearing. Craig not only does the job of a silent horde of "journalists", he exposes the shocking antics of a vicious magistrate and her fake court. Speak out now if you give a damn.

Ian Cobain, the outstanding investigative journalist who left the Guardian as it degenerated into a voice of the intelligence state, reveals here, with Alice Ross, how the British invented the Syrian "opposition" and turned propaganda into "news" .

At the #Assange extradition hearing, the lawyer for the US claimed, without a shred of evidence or irony, that in exposing America's murderous crimes, WikiLeaks risked lives. He confirmed that merely 'obtaining' a document was now illegal and that journalism was indeed on trial.

Another LNP fuck up. With another stunt cheque plastered with the MP’s name but presumably paid for by the taxpayer. And what happened to the $100k ? Maybe the guy on the right ate it.

And here’s Bert presenting the same club with a $100,000 cheque, just after they endorse him, just before the election, and just before the club folds. $100,000 in public funds to build lights at a club that no longer exists.

I propose Jeremy Corbyn visits Julian in prison and demands that Amnesty make and Chelsea Manning prisoners of conscience, which it has shamefully refused to do. (Remember this if you are thinking of donating to Amnesty). Nothing to lose, much to gain, Jeremy.

So looks like a Bridget too far. McKenzie will take a hit for the team. And if she goes quietly, in a year or so they’ll make her High Commissioner to New Zealand, where her boyfriend is a National Party MP. Just satin’

Smaller Chinese towns and cities will be given until 2022 to implement the new rules. You have to admit, when the Chinese government decides to do something, they don't muck around... #China

#China has announced a massive crackdown on single use plastic. Plastic bags will be banned in major cities by the end of this year! As will restaurant use of straws. (Fresh produce markets will be exempt) Plastic utensils + takeaway food tubs also phased out.

Scott Morrison has already called a royal commission into aged care. It delivered an interim report in Oct/Nov and almost ~nothing~ from those recommendations have been listened to or acted upon. They are privatising more! Why would we trust govt with a bushfire RC?
