Has anyone done the math on how many TV shows currently exist with cops as lead characters. Gotta be at least 50.

Agree, American networks need to look at a show like Line of Duty, where Internal Affairs are the heroes enforcing that cops follow the law, because corrupt or racist cops are dangerous to the rest of society

This always bothered me whenever I saw it. Why would cops hate cops charged with busting corrupt cops? Unless... hey, you don't think?

Well, the IAB is generally also corrupt, too

One of my favorite shows as a kid, The Pretender, had the main character make friends with IAB, addressing that issue, in rooting out some corruption in an episode. Made me love that department.

The one that really shocked me with this was Elementary. The show made a huge deal out of how radical and anti-establishment its heroes were, and then suddenly they come out with "IA jams up a lot of good cops".

This was in an episode about a black cop (one of the show's heroes) being falsely accuased of threatening a member of the public with his service weapon.
