I'm looking for at least 1 experienced producer to join my team ASAP to help us ship some cool VR projects. https://apply.workable.com/forward-xp/j/4A5118199C/…
I've got one last bit of #NaNoWriMo prep to do this evening: write myself a permission letter. Permission to be messy, to be imperfect, to follow those plot bunnies, to lose myself in the creative process, and to enjoy the heck out of every minute of it! 👍

#JeansJobTips has a lot of resources that I've cultivated over the years, from portfolio advice, tips on cover letters and resumes, where to search for jobs, how to interview, and how to negotiate.
Another client landed at Bungie. At this point, it's the place where the largest cluster of my clients end up. 🥰
My coaching sessions teach them to get clear on their expertise and how to craft career stories, and that leads to confidence.
Bravo, clients!
If you don't have a network of folks you can ask questions and learn from, you'd be surprised at how incredible TikTok, YouTube, and the library are as resources.
From finance to home repair to career advice, the information available is endless.
If you're curious to look.
Highly recommend YOU TURN, a career guidance book.
There are so many layers to discovering what path is right for you, how to engage with opportunities, and how to connect with personal meaning in your professional life.
Everytime I hit a paywall on some respected journalism site and then simply don't read the article rather than subscrining, I think about how Fox, Breitbart, The Daily Mail, et al. never ever ever paywall their content. I think about this constantly.
Normalize professional boundaries at work.
You don't need to be besties with your colleagues, they don't need to know your personal life details.
You can still do great work together with respect, communication, and collaboration.
Clock in. Work. Clock out.
A mindset that artists need to abandon pretty much instantly after you get hired is "I want this to look good in my portfolio". I've had to deal with this multiple times in my career where an artist builds something in a far more expensive way than it needs. #gamedev
What was my favorite “reaction gif” as a child? Oh Timmy no. When I was your age we had to respond in person, immediately, and we had only three choices— tiny violin, slow clap or jerk off motion. That’s it. 3 choices. You made the call and you made it fast.
Today my mentor of nearly 3 years said I seemed happier, more at peace than I've been in ages.
Yes, it was a very long journey to get here. Heartaches heal and we survive, and thrive if we're lucky. 💫💖
Reading stories of big time Hollywood names sharing their failures is awesome because I have yet to meet a person who hasn't failed.
You'll do well to remember that every person you admire has also felt like a loser many times in their life.
You get through it.
Me: Watching my follower count decrease.
No worries! I'll still be polite when I see you! My affection for you isn't determined by my social media engagement with you!
Just recorded an interview with a Halifax dev releasing this incredible-looking GameBoy project on the 31st! 👻
We talked about constraints of the platform, aesthetic choices, the lack of funny, Adams family-styled horror in games space and more- stay tuned! 🦇
Sometimes folks are going to take it personally that I have unfollowed them or don't follow back.
It isn't personal. As someone who has ADHD & high empathy, I platonically fall in love with people in my periphery - my plate is full with clients, friends.
I'll still say hi!
I couldn’t have broken into game dev or comics or anything without Twitter. I lived in Wisconsin and all my connections came from Twitter. I’m probs going to stay until I can’t. I don’t live in a “gamedev city.”
I’m a marginalized freelancer and my reach is limited.
Hey #GameDev Twitter,
I want to share a mantra that has really helped me & others in Interviewing for #gamejobs.
🙏🏽Repeat to yourself out loud:
“I am NOT here to convince this person I’m the right candidate.
I am NOT here to convince this person I’m the right candidate.”

SO DANG HAPPY.
Happiness is feeling loved and supported. I have an abundance of good people in my life that I love championing and they champion me right back.
Wishing you sincerity, kindness, and reciprocity in your friendships.
No plans to leave Twitter at the moment.
I curate who I follow, I block when necessary, and for 99 percent of my experience here, I get to meet lovely folks like the person reading this.

This is the first time I've come across the phrase Blameless Postmortem.
Mistakes will happen, we can create understanding and rely on assumptions that people did their best at the time with the knowledge they had. There is room for improvement.
