I wish restaurant guest knew that the federal minimum wage for restaurant servers is $2.13/hour, and the ⁦⁩ aggressively lobbies to keep their wages low & expects them to survive on tips. No wonder they’re known as the “Other NRA”! 😒

Less affordable housing available. Let’s hope the GA doesn’t make it worse by counting unaffordable homes toward the 10% requirement.

14 Rhode Island communities have seen their percentage of affordable housing decrease since 2012, moving farther away from the state's 10% low-and middle-income housing requirement. twitter.com/colleen_cronin…

In the 1950s, CEOs were paid 20x more than the average worker. In the 1980s, CEOs were paid 59x more. In 2009, CEOs were paid 180x more. Today, CEOs are paid 399x more than the average worker. We must put an end to this rampant greed and inequality.

This did not have to happen. This is on the policies put in place by . RIP Allen, this should not have happened to you - or anyone.

Allen Charette was found dead in Woonsocket’s Social Park this morning. Unhoused, Allen has dealt with substance use issues for years. He received treatment for exposure to his hands just last week. Last night he died on a bench, alone. @UpriseRI @mayorLBH @GovDanMcKee

This is a direct result of and her cruel and heartless approach to homelessness in her city. I'd like to think these deaths keep her up at night, but the only thing she's thinking about at night is when she can bulldoze the next encampment. Rest in peace, Allen.

My heart goes out to all the victims and their families. So sad to happen on Lunar New Year.

Just horrific. In a community that my family is intimately familiar with on Lunar New Year. Gun violence is knocking on all of our doors. This has to stop. latimes.com/california/sto
If Bernie's Social Security bill was signed into law last year, Elon Musk would have paid $2.9 billion more in taxes, no one making $250,000 or less would've paid a penny more in taxes, benefits would have gone up by $2,400 a year & Social Security would be solvent for 75 years.

Manchin on CNN says there should be no cuts to those now getting Social Security & Medicare, and rejects idea of raising the SS retirement age. He instead suggests raising the taxable wage cap for employees paying into the program.

I will be re-introducing my bill to extend Social Security's solvency for the next 75 years & expand benefits by $2,400 a year. How? By scrapping the cap. Today, a billionaire pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $160,000 a year. Let's end that absurdity.

Not 1 but 2 former aides to Gov. Sundlun have now texted me to say DiPrete raised the sales tax to 7% in 1990, the year before the banking crisis McKee said in his speech it was done during the crisis, aka under Sundlun - Sundlun only redirected a portion of the revenue to DEPCO

If you made $10,000 a day for the last 2023 years - you’d have less than 4% of how much money Elon Musk has. You: $7.4B Elon: $190B The rich continue to make more and more, while many folks are one paycheck away from financial disaster. This is not sustainable.

Two-thirds of wealth during the pandemic has gone to the top 1% The top 1% owns 45.6% of all wealth, the bottom 50% owns just 0.75% Last year, real wages for 1.7 billion workers went down, while the wealth of billionaires went up $2.7 billion a day since 2020 Tax the damn rich

I remember my father for the ideals that he held, and I know that if he were here today, he would be proud of our progress, but deeply disappointed by some of our failures. That is why we must continue to fight for peace, justice, and equity. Happy birthday, dad.

Given the price of eggs these days, now seems like a good time to remind folks of the wonderful local farms where you can get eggs - like Morris Farm in Warwick and Baffoni’s Poultry Farm in Johnston. 🥚🥚🥚

Attacking the “doubling of egg prices” as a right wing talking point, instead of demanding the producer of Egg-Land’s Best pay a windfall profits tax after posting record profits & zero positive cases of avian flu may make sense to corporate lobbyists. It makes zero sense to me.
