I am not a criminal lawyer. I am sure people are right that it's risky for him to testify. But our leaders abandoned this kid's community to lawless thug rioters, and he did something about it, and now a lawless thug prosecutor is trying to destroy his life.

I just watched a boy recount an act of offensive violence committed against him, and break down in tears. Everyone, from the "journalists" who condoned this violence to the president of the United States who called this kid a white supremacist, is culpable for this.

This boy was motivated by faux narratives telling him that guns = manhood and was failed by adult men who, instead of sending him home where he belonged, exploited him for their own fantasies of being the righteous hammer of violent justice.

You are a man when you stand up and assert yourself in the world. By 17 I was a father, lived outside my parents homes, and was actively drilling in my Army unit. It’s our nation’s failing that he felt the need to take to the streets armed.

Referring to humans as other animals is a classic step toward endorsing genocide. You think Rittenhouse is forgiven for murder but others are not forgiven for being at a protest, unarmed, or even rioting themselves? Why can't you empathize with them?

This was bound to happen at some point as community leaders (I use that term loosely) have let rioters run wild in cities across the country. That is where the real blame lies. An outrage.

And what was he defending? Some existential threat that was built up by those wanting to profit on division?
