I think those systems were planned from the start. Everything is hard to acquire in the start and then progressively gets easier. Similar things happened every expansion with gearing catch up.

honestly I don't think they listened, I think it was planned and they just wanted to give us time to get sick of it before giving us what we want so we keep playing. I know that's a negative spin on it but I can't help but think it.
