1) Agree w/ @twobitidiot but for different reasons
First, crypto "fund managers" rarely talk to actual institutional investors. LPs who were already in crypto & simply recycled $BTC & $ETH profits into crypto funds are not representative of true II's (Pensions, endowments, etc)https://twitter.com/spencernoon/status/1220730386097065984 …
2) Second, II's invest in what they understand.
a) $BTC - been around for 10 yrs, so II's now "know" it or at least feel most comfortable w/ it
b) VC funds - crypto VC funds are no different than non-crypto VC funds (investing in early stage equity via known structures)
3) I disagree w/ @twobitidiot here though:
While true that no one cares about $ETC, $BCH, $BSV, $EOS, etc; growth is happening from traditional II's is in verticals/strategies that they understand - for example Distressed / Value / Event investing

4) DeFi is very far away from traditional investor's wheelhouses, & there isn't much investable in this space yet anyway. DeFi makes sense to non-crypto investors at a broad level (removing middlemen, unbanked, etc), but that isn't translating into flows yet.
