What on earth are you talking about? When the last recession hit, NC had $0 in its Rainy Day Fund. The state now has $1.7 billion in there. UI Trust Fund has gone from a $2.8 billion deficit to a $2.1 billion surplus.

Poverty isn’t increasing in NC. It actually dropped by about 20% between 2012 and 2016.
