"Hypocrite" was where you lost me. Plenty of people at the NCGA lobbying for their own businesses interests. Some might run for office one day. Some used to be senators.
You keep defending him by trying to equate conduct that is dissimilar. Touting public interest as a subterfuge for lining his pockets certainly is hypocrisy. And that’s what the article describes.
