We are seeking compiler developers to join our team at Espressif. Locations: Shanghai/Brno/Remote. Work is mainly related to backends for Xtensa and other architectures, within GCC or LLVM. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/594792526/ …
It's there. LLVM-based compiler for xtensa is in production. AFAIK it is possible for the Cadence/Tensilica customer to get access to the xtensa LLVM backend source.

Does that translate to „actually downloadable somewhere“ or „get lost dirty hobbyist“?
-
My understanding is that it translates to "Cadence customer that got that access can make the source downloadable somewhere".
-
Will tripple check the license but I don't think above is the case (can make source downloadable).
-
I was told that that was the intention. If it's not possible due to the license or for some other reason please let me know, because apparently something is going wrong here and I'd like to get it fixed.
-
Finally got the response, will follow up with you be email.
-
Are there any updates on a possibility of the general public getting access to the Xtensa LLVM backend? Cheers :)
-
I can ask again when people are back from vacations. I wouldn't expect any changes though.
-
As expected, nothing's changed in this regard, sorry.
