The average U.S. soldier makes $33,000/year. The average State Trooper makes $60,000/year. Colin Kaepernick has made over $50 million since 2011. Dear Nike...just shove it.

I fully support our military and vets. Thank you all for your service. However, this has nothing to do with Kaep or his social injustice protects. Secondly, he sacrificed his career, which to many is “everything”. Please don’t devalue everybody else’s career choices.

While the country is not perfect. It was founded on ideas of brave young men who sacrificed everything to birth a nation. That many have fought bleed and died. His cause has merit. The time to protest is not during the anthem that represents the blood shed for it. #Westand

No matter how often Kaepernick tells us why he kneels there are those who will choose to take offense where non has been offered.

Again - the point of his protest was police brutality and racial injustice, NOT veterans or the flag. His own words clarify his intent. No offense was offered to Vets or Military.pic.twitter.com/k00gxyOmyJ

Sacrificed his career? He was 3 -13 last 2 years and lost starting job to Blaine Gabbert !!! All before he started kneeling. He opted out of San Francisco contract not them. And he turned down offers. Plus much more. His message is a good one but he is no martyr.

Devaluing someone’s choices is an acceptable avenue for you? You bloody well know his activism has nothing to do with army, navy, etc. Disgusting. Propaganda like.

We're both USMC Vets, I'm from Rochester (Conkey Ave) and you're from Fairport (which is pretty much suburban Rochester). Yet were on completely opposite sides of this. I think I know why..and I can help give you a better understanding of why this post is wrong.

So unless someone sacrifices their life, the word sacrifice can't apply?

What did he sacrifice? He made a choice. The team responded by making a choice. Kaep ten struck a deal with Corporate giant. Free market working perfectly.

He sacrificed a job paying millions of dollars most people would love to have to have his voice heard and at that point there was no inkling of a deal like this. If "choice" is the word you're going to make key here, is the military not a choice these days?

And to clarify I'm not saying Kaep did or didn't do anything on par with military. However, you and others say pretty pointedly argue that what he did is not only not important but wrong. And I don't follow that.

I simply said sacrifice does not apply to this situation at all. Silly comparison.
