Now, of course, those other countries locked down earlier, but the point is there still seems to be a much more relaxed attitude to things in the UK during our lockdown.
And across the Atlantic, many states are still proceeding merrily as normal...

Presumably because those countries have much tougher restrictions on e.g. exercise rather than due to any inherent behavioural differences.

Parks are closed in France & Italy (I don’t know re Spain) whereas they’re open in UK. I think that explains the differential on the first chart.
UK much closer to other European nations when it comes to retail & entertainment.

Retail is closed in 90% of US, unless grocery stores and pharmacies are counted as retail
