But sadly, whoever owns the former 10 Barrel property is now selling it. It's been marketed for sale by CBRE, as of early Jan, and we may never live to see the day of the totally random downtown single family home

The deed gives us a clue --> Brian Mariotti. Could it be the CEO of the famous toy brand Funko? That Mariotti is also selling his Coronado mansion

Who would do such a thing?

For reference, we're talking about a 9,607 SF brewery (incl rooftop deck) in downtown San Diego. And it was going to be somebody's home.

Said owner then spent "significant capital" to convert the building into a SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE

In Aug. 2022, an entity called BoyBlue LLC bought the property at 1501 E St for $6.1M, property records show.

It was a bust. 10 Barrel closed less than 3 years later. But that's not the most interesting part of this story.

10 Barrel Brewing, an Anheuser-Busch brewpub, made quite the splash when it opened in East Village in 2017. Corporate beer co masquerading as a craft brewery in the capital of craft, or so the rhetoric went

I toured Q2 just a couple weeks after touring Snapdragon and got chills by how similar the venues are. FWIW was told that the canopies at Q2 actually add too much shade for a portion of the grass hence the artificial light tech in the 3rd pic

After touring Q2 in Austin, I realized that there must have been 0 doubt in the minds of SDSU's leadership that an MLS team would anchor Snapdragon. The stadiums are identical for save for the canopies.
