college students are not, as far as i can tell, indoctrinated but they do spend a huge amount of time in extremely close contact with a wide variety of different kinds of people and that, i don’t know, may influence their worldviews in consequential ways

The universal line of "don't come to class hung over" seems to be falling short

I taught MWF 1, 2 & 3 pm classes. “Please don’t come to class so drunk that you fall out of your desk” was my attempt at indoctrination. I like to think that the few brain cells that were saved are out in the world today preaching my doctrine about bibliographies & footnotes.

I didn’t do any of the readings but I did become a niche topic Marxist because the professor was so persuasive.
