Side note, I do agree that none of these movies have lived up to the dynamite premise.

yeah, there is way more to do with the premise even if you want it to be an exploration of racism. the treatment of that exploration is one dimensional, not the exploration itself.

honestly i appreciate that the purge movies basically make it clear that the purge is an affluent white people violent racism night and the first time they had one what mostly happened was sick block parties
