A real man doesn't have lady friends. He will select ones to find as potential suitors for long term companionship. The lady's I encounter now, won't be around in my life later on by choice. If I wanted to be friends, I would have never pursued her to begin with.
The "let's just be friends" that many women say is a way to keep the guy around and be comfortable. As a man, you lead and without a solid commitment from her, the best option for both is to end process. May sound harsh, but the female will respect you more.

In fact, the ones I have done this too have had episodes of trying to venture back. Many are startled that I take the "ghost" approach. It's a risk reward scenary. A man will always take the risk. A boy will be content being a side guy for her and her leisure.

I understand what you are saying, but these three friends (1 at each stage of my life) were very different. Their wives are good friends of mine, but I agree that many women use this as a crutch. That is not what I am referring to
