If the WSJ is having trouble attracting more young subscribers, even if they are left leaning, it’s not going to draw them by running the same stuff that they can already get elsewhere on the internet.

For the sake of the WSJ — an indispensable publication I pay for because it contains things I can’t find elsewhere — I hope this is true.https://mobile.twitter.com/bradleyhope/status/1380892006130520066 …

And also, if you’re at the WSJ and you wish it was more like the NYT or the WP, maybe just go work there? Being a WSJ reporter is prestigious and you can probably get hired at other outlets.

Honestly this piece reminds me of the 2019 BuzzFeed gem contending Grindr made a business strategy error by failing to become a magazine publisher and agent for positive social change. No! Stick to what you’re good at! https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ryanmac/grindr-chinese-owner-company-chaos …pic.twitter.com/Nl0ZCkmvqk

It’s true that this straight Chinese guy did not seem like the ideal fit to run Grindr, but his being “hell bent on attaining 4 million daily active users” shows he understood the business far better than the corporate magazine writers who thought they were the “queer Atlantic.”

Yes, sounded like an attempt to homogenize
@WSJ & make it just like@nytimes and@washingtonpost: "justice journalism."Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Frankly, I’d settle for a less-stupid op-ed section. It doesn’t even need to be good, just less stupid.

^This is the correct take. The WSJ opinion section reads like it was found scribbled on a bear spray-drenched notebook inside the Capitol rotunda. Times-ifying the rest of the paper falls under “be careful what you wish for”.

I like the WSJ despite their editorials. I usually skip over them; they’ve gotten more and more desperate since they embraced Trumpism. It would be cool if they had opinions from more than neocons and Uber rich ‘populists’

Their opinion section is like listening to my 67yo father-in-law. No fuckin thanks.
