Just look at how McConnell is pushing back on impeachment. He could push it through if he thought that loyalty to Trump was significantly diminished. McConnell's actions are generally a pretty good barometer of where his party is currently and moving to in the future.

What would happen if they vote on impeachment now, but not send the articles to the Senate for vote until the 20th, that way the Dem’s will have Senate majority and if a tie breaker is needed Kamala breaks the tie?

If the election were suddenly allowed to be re-held next week they’d all vote for him
-
And they’ll certainly be all-in for him if he wins the 2024 nomination

If Trump is a spent political force, then the effort to impeach him should be nearly unanimous. Clearly, it is not.

Agree. I recommend establishment journalists take the time to read and carefully reflect on Timothy Snyder’s NYT essay before they interview any GOP individuals further.https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/09/magazine/trump-coup.html …

That essay is one for the ages.

Pat Toomey's interview was absurd. I have avoided
@MeetThePress in the past few months because of their constant use of "both sides" and inviting on Hugh Hewitt and the like. I've also had my issues with Peggy Noonan more recently...she was strong today.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
