Can you name me one politician, in either party, who cares about truth or falsity? Who cares about principle, honor, and American ideals? Isn’t it all tribalism, as far as the eye can see? Red jerseys and blue jerseys, nothing more?

It’s bad enough that the politicians act this way. What about the opinionists in the media?

I listened to Ken Starr, Lindsey Graham, and the rest in 1998-99: about the importance of character in office, the rule of law, cooperation between branches of government, etc. They were right, LOL.

Through most of the 1990s, and all those Clinton scandals, I heard, “Witch hunt! Witch hunt!” That was from Clintonistas. Now I hear it from R’s, and the cries ring equally hollow.

Is there any doubt that, if the Kremlin had interfered for the Democratic nominee in 2016, and not the Republican, R’s would be screaming bloody murder and D’s would be shrugging?

Is there any doubt that, if Trump had won the popular vote but lost to Hillary in the Electoral College, R’s would be screaming for the abolition of the Electoral College, as an obstacle to the popular will, and D’s would be defending it?

Trump, as you remember, said in 2012 that the Electoral College was “a disaster for a democracy.” Four years later, he was elected president by that very mechanism.

Pardon my cynicism, but maybe that cynicism is more like realism. If it weren’t for double standards in our politics, there would be no standards at all. The last several years have left no doubt of that.

A lot of people go after @SenSanders , but he is a very honest person about his intentions, whether you want to believe them or not.

I kinda hope that Starr will pull a Pacino as in the last scene of And Justice For All. But it's a dumb hope.

Republicans would never support abolition of the electoral college. The states created the federal government, not the other way around.
