Here is the full context. USA Powerlifting adopted a new dress code. Anything that “... could be or is construed...” to “...represent any political or social position/statement or organization may not be worn at any USA Powerlifting event at any time or any place in the venue...”
This is after USA Powerlifting adopted new rules banning transgender lifters from participating as their declared gender. In response folks expressed their discontent with apparel and protestpic.twitter.com/dTjLIRr2EW
The rule was adopted after I was prohibited from competing, found a way to compete anyway, and started speaking out publicly. Here is another of my social statements/positions: it’s time to stand up against the silencing and censorship of marginalized individuals.
