In his closing speech reflected on the intensity of the last four years in the country & our state. As the campaign ends, I’ve been thinking about one defining moment: the cataclysmic events Minnesotans lived firsthand as the world witnessed George Floyd’s murder.🧡

As my opponent turns to fear & division, and the rhetoric gets louder & louder. It can be hard to find hope. Let me cut thru the noise & share my vision for a MN where we can afford our lives & live with dignity, safety, & respect Watch my full speech ➑️ bit.ly/3Udn79Z

DOJ Report that after the murder of George Floyd, there was a 35% drop in MPD reporting racial data in police stops. Their reaction to the world demanding they stop hurting Black and Brown people: stop collecting data on Black and Brown people.

Minneapolis is pushing back on the Prof. Schultz report, saying his numbers are way off β€” by $100 million. Even if true, by their own calculations, police payouts in MPLS were 9X that of St. Paul from 2010 through 2020 -- and that was before George Floyd. twitter.com/CityHallScoop/

I'll be playing this Thursday night at George Floyd Square (38th & Chicago) with some MN Orch colleagues and about 40 singers as part of the 3rd annual Rise & Remember commemoration. If you've never been, it's an indescribably wonderful event. Please come.

It's hard to encompass in one article all of the policy wins in Minnesota over the past five months. As their legislative session ends today, @ryanlcooper does his best with a recap, including some things that look positively Nordic: prospect.org/politics/2023-

I avoid the automotive aisle as well

Listen, I wasn’t a β€œboycott Target” guy… but walking into a store right now is like walking through a museum of mental derangement. Every leftist dogma is just blasted in your face, every aisle. It’s worse than it’s ever been.
