    Every time someone asks me if they need a vpn I say “it’s complicated” and 20 min later end on “just always use HTTPS, that’s what you think a vpn does”. Next time I’ll send this thread

    Ppl keep asking me but Kreb's article on VPN finally nails it: Nothing has really changed and most VPNs are scams

    There was always self-selection in who was willing to move to Silicon Valley - with the rent, the commute and everything else you gave up, you had to be really motivated to come. The problem is, it might just stop being a reasonable choice no matter how much you want it.
