I'm pretty sure this is meant to be various strategies and how they're used to push the specific narrative, not that the entire concept of intellectually analysis is in fact inherently racist.

For example on "intellectualizing", the Slate Star Codex guy dresses up his racism as "just thinking Murray was right in his Eugenics book" which almost no normal person will parse, but is in fact an impassioned defense of racial stereotyping in government.

Haha wut. If you think Scott Alexander is a racist we’ve been reading a different blog

Scott Siskind has stated on multiple occasions his belief that Eugenics is in fact good, specifically citing Murray's widely discredited "The Bell Curve."

May I also invite you to peruse the Reddit he frequents for his blog, which has many very racist conversations around genetic intelligence and which races lack it. He chooses not to moderate it, citing that the debate should be ongoing.

He could choose to moderate his Reddit. Or rather, he could tell his moderators to treat "Human Biodiversity" like they do "The Culture Wars." He deliberately chooses not to.

People who know him have told me he's super racist, but I've never read a blog post of his that struck me as racist, but then again his posts are so long that I only read a few.

Anything shared in public? I've never met Scott in person but have talked to people that have and I've never heard anything other than he's polite, thoughtful and caring. This really doesn't fit with my image of him at all based on his blog and anecdotes I've heard.

I am such a clever and devious mastermind, in fact, that I cleverly arranged for Scott Alexander to take down his blog so I could use my contacts within the Internet Archive to falsify this capture of him LITERALLY SAYING "I like eugenics" https://web.archive.org/web/20200228054021/https://slatestarcodex.com/2013/12/08/a-something-sort-of-like-left-libertarianism-ist-manifesto/#comment-23688 …

I will read this. Like I said before though, the term “Eugenics” is not by necessity some evil tool. If we can select for traits that benefit the population as a whole, that’s a good thing. We don’t have to assume the worst possible interpretation of everything

I mean, do we honestly think that Scott is openly advertising his desire for a biologically crafted superior race? What direct information do we really have to jump to that conclusion?

It's hard to avoid that conclusion after awhile. Especially given that other prominent rationalists Scott cites have directly called for it as well.

Eugenics has been behind every reprehensible movement by governments to sterilize, lobotomize and outright commit genocide. Where do you think the Nazis got their ideas? The American eugenics movement. There will always be someone "inferior" and it will always be abused.
