BREAKING: Hong Kong Police for the first time deployed water cannons infused with blue dye. The idea is to identify protesters and facilitate arrests. Carrie Lam reportedly told her cabinet that she would “lock them all up.” Looks like she meant what she said.pic.twitter.com/N10HzNggk8

Police have used this tactic for decades. Water cannons come with special tanks for the dye. The best counter measure was in South Africa where the demonstrators got one of the cannons and sprayed it back on government buildings.https://www.amusingplanet.com/2012/05/fighting-protesters-with-colored-water.html …

People usually don't do it. There r different types of people. Some very motivated, some are not+ this coloring may have some kind of special ingredients visible only through lab testing or UV light. So d protesters will need lot of same coloring water to apply it to everybody

Use vaseline. We do the same for Holi. If you can’t afford Vaseline use coconut oil.

Maybe a new fashion trend in Hong Kong will be to have large blue stains on people. Everyone should have this

Stay safe. Please apply soda powder with water shortly after being sprayed as it's hardly to be removed afterwards. If you feel shortly painful then, remove the chemicals on the skin with dry cloth or tissue paper first as water will intensifies the effect of it.

Unfortunately true. They don't have any internal standards or laws prohibiting "cruel and unusual punishment".
