Arrays are underrated for data structures
Unpopular opinion: Arrays are the only data structure. Everything else is an abstraction.

Does that really apply to structures? They seem fundamentally different, one is a tuple on is a vector?

C-structures are really only arrays of bytes. Their struct-ness is the abstraction. Of course I'm half-kidding here, but only half. In terms of locality and cache utilization, it's not unreasonable to think of data accesses only in terms of byte arrays.

An array is putting all your cutlery in one drawer. Nearly everything else is putting one fork in the drawer, with a little label attached to it telling you that there's a spoon in the washing machine.
