    Meltdown/Spectre: I keep hearing patches come with about a 25% performance impact. I agree - - in my experience it's been roughly equivalent to removing one tire from a 4 wheeled vehicle.

    It's because you never try to grep a log file and then run into problems that make you waste another 15 minutes to get something that isn't a nice little binary on your server (cause it's some web app with its own swampy infrastructure) working properly.

    It seems consistent with their scale, it means https is broken, not iis remote shell. Still, if you can't make exceptions for things like this, then maybe the scale is broken.
