What if I'm not libertarian, but i wanna see the poll results? WHAT DO I DO???
Confused about whether libertarians were on board with the idea of a universal basic income. Are you libertarian? If so, are you in favor of a UBI?

I know many libertarians, and my sense is it's controversial! Milton Friedman posed a flavor of UBI (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_income_tax …) as an alternative to the rest of the welfare state. Basically "if we're gonna have a welfare state, cash transfers instead of all this complex stuff."

I think you'll find libertarians who favor it are people concerned about danger to the very poorest and most at-risk people, but who don't want the large bureaucracies, invigilation, and rent-seeking that sometimes come with welfare programs.

Yes, I'm libertarian, and I'm deeply conflicted about UBI. Here's an idea: let's randomly assign some states to try it, and others not, and see how it goes, using non-partisan metrics of success that we've agreed in advance?
