One of those is a separate game mode, the other is just historically inaccurate. Not against women being in CODWWII, but theres a difference

Psssst multiplayer is also a separate game mode, with respawns and kill streaks and other lovely things that didn't happen in World War II

Those are necessary things in the game in order to make it enjoyable, including females in a war that they weren't in isn't necessary.

This may come as a shock, but have you considered that for people who aren't you, playing as a woman might make a game more enjoyable?

Right, but you said you'll trade believability for features that make the game more enjoyable. For some people, that's playable women.

Those people's priorities when it comes to game features should be put in check then. Respawning and HUDs? Necessary. Female character? Not.

Bad news: You don't get to decide what other people should find enjoyable in a video game.

Which isn't to say that you don't make a valid point. But isn't one intended to be somewhat historical and the other a complete fantasy?

We're talking about multilayer. Nothing about multiplayer games is historically accurate. Soldiers in WW2 didn't respawn, they just died.

You respawn in the campaign also, at a checkpoint. What's the difference?

I demand a realistic war game where once a week you have to go on kitchen police and peel potatoes for 8 hours before you can keep playing.

You spend 8 hours mopping up rain because in the tutorial you didn't fold all your socks to the correct millimeter.
